Sausage Stuffed Loaf

  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough (1lb each)
  • 1 lb Italian Sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 pkg. (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ c. grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 t. oregano
  • ½ t. garlic powder
  • 2 T. butter, cubed
  • olive oil
  1. Thaw bread dough and let rise until doubled.
  2. Mix sausage, spinach, cheeses, oregano, and garlic powder; set aside.
  3. Roll each loaf of bread into a 14x12 inch rectangle.
  4. Spread sausage mixture lengthwise down the center of each rectangle. Dot with butter.
  5. Bring edges of dough to the center of filling; pinch to seal. Place on greased baking sheet seam sides down.
  6. Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with parmesan.
  7. Bake at 350 for 20-25 min. or until golder brown.
  8. Let stand 5-10 min. before cutting.
  9. *Can freeze a loaf (cool and wrap in foil)
  10. TO USE FROZEN LOAF: Thaw at room temperature for 2 hours. Unwrap and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 15-20 min. or until heated through./
