Oh ladies…I really like this craft!! I thought I would show you how to make a SUPER SIMPLE personalized charm necklace! This is a great necklace to give as a gift. AND with Mother’s Day right around the corner, it would be perfect for a grandmother too!
The supplies you need are: glass charm that opens like a locket (different styles can be found at most craft stores, I got mine at Micheal’s), picture and/or quote, scissors
This so easy to make! Most of these type of charms will come with a template inside. Use it to cut out the picture and whatever else you want to use for the opposite side.
Once you have the images for both sides cut out, put them back-to-back and place inside of the charm. Lock the clasp and and you are finished!
I have found that most of these type of charms have a pretty big “eye” so they fit on most chains without any problem. If the one you choose doesn’t, you will have to add a jump ring. This is just a metal circle (also found in the jewelry section) that you can attach the charm to necklace.
Another fun option is to add a “lobster” style clasp to a necklace. This will allow you to change out charms very easily! (See the picture below to clarify what a lobster clasp looks like.)
Some charms will also come with two rings. For this type, just add a smaller charm using a jump ring.
If your kids are in sports, this is another great way to show your support. Use a picture of them on the field/in their uniform and then a quote or bible verse that has meaning for you.
I choose this verse from Proverbs:
Feel free to copy and print it. I would suggest using Picmonkey to adjust the size.
