Field Preparation:
- 2 teams
- grid (40yds x 50yds)
- channel area (5yds x 50yds)
- cones to mark off area
- pinnies
- good supply of balls for continuous play
Description:
- all restarts due to out of bounds, fouls, goals, are started by the goalies
- if the goalie has the ball at least one of his teammates must move into the channel area to receive the ball
- goals off a cross from inside the channel area count 2 points
Variation:
- defenders can enter channel once an attacker receives a pass inside that channel
- teams can only score if at least one player of the team receives pass inside the channel area
- limit number of touches (for channel players)
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
Coaching Points:
- shift as a unit
- constant movement
- communication is vital
- create supporting angles
- combination play
