Game Mix (Cool Down)
The cool down is often a neglected part of soccer fitness, but in terms of keeping players flexible and healthy, it can be an important tool of coaching.

Basic Information
Age Group: (5-7yrs) (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs) (16-Adult)
Number of Players: 8+
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Time: 10-15 min.
Emphasis: Finishing, Passing, Attacking, Defending
Field Preparation:
- 2 teams
- 2 goals without goalies
- cones to mark off area
- pinnies
- supply of balls for continuous play
Description:
- play 5v5, 6v6, 7v7 etc.
- coach calls out which game to play
- for game no.1 and no.2 players pass to each other by throwing the ball with their hands
Game 1:
- teams score if a player heads the ball back to the pass-giver (to a third player)
- possession changes if the ball is dropped or the other team intercepts the pass
- player with the ball can only take two steps
- younger age groups are not allowed to wrestle for the ball
Game 2:
- teams score by heading/volleying the ball into the goal
- each team defends a goal
- possession changes if the ball is dropped or the other team intercepts the pass
- player with the ball can only take two steps
- no self passes allowed
- younger age groups are not allowed to wrestle for the ball
Game 3:
- teams play one touch soccer with each team defending a goal (no more handball!)
Game 4:
- goals only count if the goalscorer touched the ball with his heel
Variation:
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
