Basic Information
Age Group: (5-7yrs) (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs) (16-Adult)
Number of Players: 8+
Difficulty: Medium
Time: 10-15 min.
Emphasis: Finishing
Field Preparation:
- each player with a ball
- 1x goal with goalkeeper
- cones to mark off area
- good supply of balls for continuous play
Description:
- players dribble through triangle goals one after the other
- once the player with the ball starts dribbling the defender can follow him
- a goal is awarded two points if the ball goes between the cone and the post
- players switch roles after 3-4 minutes
Variation:
- specify how players must shoot (left or right foot, inside or laces, high or low etc.)
- adjust distance between cones and the goal if necessary
Coaching Points:
- use inside of foot to shoot for accuracy
- use laces to strike ball with pace
- get the shot off as quickly as possible
- identify the goalkeepers starting position
- accuracy before power
- try to be deceptive with the shot
- prepare the ball at a slight diagonal to set up for the shot
- follow through and land on the shooting foot
