Basic Information

Age Group: (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs) (16-Adult)
Number of Players: 7+
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Time: 20-25 min.
Emphasis: Dribbling, Attacking, Defending

Field Preparation:

  • 2 teams
  • grid (40yds x 50yds)
  • cones to mark off area
  • center cone goal (4-5yds)
  • 2 corner zones as shown
  • 1 goal with goalie
  • pinnies

Description:

  • defending team scores by dribbling into a corner zone or through center cone goal with control
  • attacking team scores on the goal with goalie
  • 1 point for dribbling into square
  • 3 points for dribbling through cone goal
  • all restarts due to out of bounds, fouls, goals, are started by the keeper
  • switch roles after 4-8 minutes

Variation:

  • play 6v5, 5v4 etc.
  • limit number of touches
  • if defenders score they switch roles with the attackers
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary

  • supporting angle and distance to ball
  • create space for others
  • attack space behind defense
  • quality of preparation touch

  • change role of pressure and cover

  • control and restraint
  • delay and channel
