Basic Information

Emphasis: Passing, Dribbling, Attacking, Defending

Field Preparation:

  • 2 teams
  • grid (40yds x 50yds)
  • cones to mark off area / zones
  • 2 goals with goalies
  • pinnies
  • good supply of balls for continuous play

Description:

  • each team defends and attacks one goal
  • defenders cannot be challenged in defending third
  • defenders have maximum of 3 touches in defending third
  • middle third cannot be bypassed
  • if rule is broken automatic free kick for the other team

Variation:

  • maximum of 2 touches in attacking third
  • players must dribble the ball from the middle third into the attacking third
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary

  • decision making
  • verbal and visual communication
  • weight of pass
  • accuracy- first touch
  • aggressive and positive mentality in front of goal

  • change role of pressure and cover
  • visual and verbal communication
