Steady 1v1
Youth players can really improve their soccer moves through some simple one on one (1v1) drills. The soccer drill on this page develops reaction ability and agility.

Basic Information

Time: 10-15 min.
Emphasis: Dribbling
Field Preparation:
- in pairs
- 1 ball per pair
- cones to mark off area
- cone goals (4-5yds)
Description:
- each pair plays 1v1 on a designated goal only
- goals are scored by dribbling across the goal line
- goals can be scored from both sides of the goal
- rotate partners every 2-3 minutes
Variation:
- players can score on any goal
- players score by stopping the ball between any cone goal
- play with designated attackers and defenders who switch roles after 2-3 minutes
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
