The format of the soccer drills for kids are created to be presented in a basic, simple to implement structure. We recommend to work with these types of excellent kids, youth and adult soccer drills as your personal coaching tool every time before you get to the practice field. Become acquainted with one of several free soccer drills, go through the soccer equipment you might need, the guidelines as well as modifications to determine the things that work effectively for you, and above all be prepared to adjust.

Basic Information

Age Group: (5-7yrs) (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs) (16-Adult)
Number of Players: 8+
Difficulty: Medium
Time: 15-30 min.
Emphasis: Finishing, Passing, Attacking, Defending

Field Preparation:

  • 2 teams
  • 2 goals with goalies
  • cones to mark off area
  • 2 cone gates (3-5yds)
  • good supply of balls for continuous play
  • pinnies


  • teams can score on both goals
  • 2 cone goals on both sides of midfield as shown
  • each team has different scoring restrictions
  • if one team wins the ball it can only score in the goal of the other half
  • if the other team wins the ball it must pass through the cone goals to a teammate before it is allowed to score


  • add a neutral player
  • players must stay in their designated half (i.e. 2v2 in each half)
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
