Basic Information

Age Group: (5-7yrs) (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs) (16-Adult)
Number of Players: 8+
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Time: 5-15 min.
Emphasis: Dribbling, Passing

Field Preparation:

  • each player with a ball
  • cones to mark off grid

Description:

  • players dribble inside the playing area
  • on coach’s command all players attempt to knock out everybody else’s ball while protecting their own ball
  • if a player’s ball gets kicked out of the grid, he retrieves the ball and dribbles around the grid or performs any
  • other task (like juggling etc.)
  • last player with a ball inside the grid wins

Variation:

  • specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, left or right foot only etc.)
  • specify how players must pass shoot (left or right foot, inside or outside foot etc.)
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group

Coaching Points:

  • agility and balance
  • contact surface of foot
  • deception
  • change of speed & direction
  • protect the ball
  • weight of pass
  • accuracy
