Shooting Drill Center Grid # 1
This selection of soccer drills for high school players will build basic shooting skills and help ensure they are prepared for particular game situations.

Basic Information
Age Group: (5-7yrs) (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs)
Number of Players: 8+
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 10-15 min.
Emphasis: Finishing
Field Preparation:
- 2 groups
- 2 goals with goalies
- each player with a ball
- centre grid (7yds x 10yds)
- good supply of cones to mark off area
Description:
- all players from each group are assigned a number from 1-4
- each group is assigend a goal which to score on
- players dribble inside playing area
- when coach calls out a number the players with that number dribble out of the box and finish on goal
- players are awarded a point if they score and and an extra point if the shot is on target
- first player to shoot is awarded an extra point
- the group with most points wins
Variation:
- specify how players must shoot (left or right foot, inside or laces, high or low etc.)
- players juggle in centre grid and shoot on goal on a drop-kick
- players must to beat the goalie by dribbling around him
- the shot cannot touch the ground before it goes into the goal
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
