Defending
Field Preparation:
- 2 teams
- 1 goal with goalie
- endzone (10-20yds deep)
- good supply of cones
- good supply of balls for continuous play
- pinnies
- repeat setup to accommodate the entire team
Description:
- play 4v2
- the attacking team can score by shooting from outside the endzone (no-go zone)
- the defending team tries to prevent the other team from scoring
- if the ball goes out of bounce or a goal is scored one player from the attacking players feeds in a
- new ball from the opposite side of the goal
- switch roles after 4-8 minutes
Variation:
- play 3v2, 4v3, 5v3, 5v2 etc.
- the defending team must try to pass to a target player outside the grid once they have possession
- shots on goal can only be taken first touch
- attackers must connect three passes before they can score
- limit number of touches for the attackers
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
