Basic Information
Age Group: (5-7yrs) (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs)
Number of Players: 5+
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 5-10 min.
Emphasis: Dribbling, Ball Control
Field Preparation:
- each player with a ball
- supply of cones
- large grid (20 x 20yds)
- small grid (7 x 7yds)
Description:
- players dribble inside the small grid
- on coach’s command all players dribble around a cone from the large grid and then dribble back into the small grid
- last player to be back inside the small grid does a fun exercise
Variation:
- specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, sole, left
or right foot only etc.) - play in teams and see what team makes it back into the grid first
- on coach’s command players swap balls before they leave the inner grid
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group

- acceleration into space
- close control
- agility and balance
