Good soccer dribbling skills enable you to have the ball more often and advance it up the pitch. It helps players to run directly into clear space (with the ball) and beat challenging defenders. It’s an essential technique to master. Correct dribbling technique is super easy to learn, and will assist you to dribble and also handle the ball more effectively.

Basic Information
Age Group: (5-7yrs) (8-11yrs) (12-15yrs)

Emphasis: Dribbling, Ball Control
Field Preparation:
- each player with a ball
- 2-4 players max per station
- supply of cones
- cone goals (2-3yds)
- repeat setup to accommodate the entire team
Description:
- the first player in line of each group dribbles through the cone goal to his left and then returns to his group
- next player repeats sequence
- run activity for 3-5 rounds
- first group back to its original position wins
Variation:
- specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, sole, left or right foot only etc.)
- players make a self pass through the cone goal
- players perform a specific move before they dribble through the gate (Cruyff, Scissor etc.)
- players dribble through the cone goal in a figure eight
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
