Field Preparation:

  • each player with a ball
  • supply of balls


  • on coach’s command players dribble inside penalty box
  • on coach’s command players chip ball over cones
  • on coach’s command players perform specific move in front of cones
  • on coach’s command players dribble around 10 cones
  • on coach’s command players dribble inside 6 yard box


  • specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, left or right foot only etc.)
  • set up one large grid and two smaller ones within the large one to accommodate the age and ability of the group
  • each grid is assigned an activity or game to be played (i.e. grid A: practice a specific move; grid B: game of tag; grid C: – practice juggling)

  • close control
  • change of speed & direction
  • soft touch
