I love fall. One of our family’s favorite activites this time of year is apple picking. We normally go a few times during the season and always leave with more apples than we planned to pick, so my list of apple recipes has grown over the years. One of our favorites is apple tarts. They are super simple to make and only take a few ingredients.
Ingredients: apple pie filling, refrigerated pie dough, 1 egg and sugar
I like to make my own roasted apple filling. I normally make a large batch and them use some of it for pies and the rest turns into applesauce. You can find the recipe HERE.
Unroll the refrigerated pie dough and use an extra large glass to make dough circles.
Add a little bit of the apple pie filling on one side of the circle.
Then fold the circle in half and press the edges together to form the tart.
Whisk one egg with a little bit of water and brush the tops of the tarts.
Sprinkle sugar over each tart, then bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
These are delicious and great dessert-on-the-go!
