Cookware, Pots/Pants, etc. You’ll Need
Here is a list of what you’ll need to prepare this recipe:
It is pool season!!! I have been looking forward to going to the pool since the beginning of winter. Unfortunately, we aren’t lucky enough to have one in our back yard, but we do have a neighborhood pool. The older my girls get, the more time we spend there during the summer. It is so much fun but getting there can be a hassle. There are a million things to bring with us and one of those must haves is FOOD!
Kids burn a ton of calories when they are playing in the water and in return eat a lot of food. I’m a little more lackadaisical when it comes down to what types of food we take with us. I want things that are easy to pack and individually wrapped. I don’t like the wet little hands digging into the community bag of chips…but that’s just me! Here are some of our easy pool snacks options:
-
Fruit (bananas, apples, grapes)
-
Granola Bars
-
Crackers and chips (pack in small containers for each individual)
-
Applesauce Pouches
-
Go-Gurt Yogurt Sticks (freeze before heading to the pool)
-
Dried Fruit
-
Nuts
-
Granola Yogurt Bites (sweet but good source of some protein)
-
Nutella and GO! Snack
-
Fruit Leather or Snacks
-
Cheese sticks (freeze and they will be perfect when the kids are ready to eat them)
-
Dried fruit
-
Popcorn (my favorite is Skinny Pop)
-
Fruit Cups
-
Jif To Go with apple slices, crackers or carrots
Some of these items can be a little pricey so you could always substitute homemade items (like granola bars) or pre-package items (like popcorn) in plastic bags or reusable containers. I have found that the Dollar Store has a good selection of inexpensive food storage. (For more suggestions, check out our post on containers.)
Having easy food options will make your summer life a little easier!
