Texas Tacos | Taco Alternative

Tired of the same old taco meal? Try these Texas Tacos layered with deliciousness!

Texas Tacos is a long-time family favorite of ours! It’s a great alternative to having yet another “taco” night. It has all of our favorites layered together and then baked.

Your family will enjoy this taco variation, and if you think of other taco toppings that are favorites of yours, feel free to add them in!

  • 2 lbs. hamburger
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • Nacho Chips
  • 1 can petite diced tomatoes
  • taco sauce
  • 2 c. cheddar cheese
  • 2 c. mozzarella cheese
  • sour cream
  1. Cook hamburger and drain grease. Add ⅔ c. water and taco seasoning. Cooking until thickened.
  2. Crunch ⅓-1/2 bag of chips in the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
  3. Spread hamburger on top of chips.
  4. Sprinkle on cheddar cheese.
  5. Layer on the diced tomatoes.
  6. Pour on mild taco sauce.
  7. Sprinkle on 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake 15-20 min.
  9. Add sour cream and 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
  10. Bake 10 more minutes.
